Vintage Halloween sign.

As promised here is the tutorial for the vintage Halloween sign.

This is also a quick and easy project.

Supplies:
Halloween vintage sign from Graphics Fairy
www.graphicsfairy.blogspot.com
(under search pick halloween and browse till you find and image you like or the one I have choose)

1 ½” strips of your favorite scrap booking/cardstock
Hot glue gun
Scallop edged scissors, or any other edger you like
Black cardstock 12x12
Piece of ribbon or tulle 12”x1-2”

Start by scoring your 1 ½” strips of decorative paper. I use my scoring board, but you can just fold if you like. I fold every ½”. To see more detailed please see my previous blog on the BOO discs on my front door from last week.

You are going to join enough strips of this scored and folded paper to make a crinkle frame for around your vintage sign.

Print the sign on cardstock to a size you like. Mine is 7x10. Trim the edges so you have a small black frame around it. I then mounted mine on another piece of black cardstock to give it a weighty feel. This is optional.

Take a piece of black cardstock 1” larger on all sides than the sign and cut edges with edger scissors.
Flip your sign and mount your crinkle edging to the back.
See blog from yesterday to see the gluing of the crinkle.
I gathered at the edges so that the crinkle edge would go around the corners nicely.

Let dry and then mount the scalloped backer onto the back of sign.

I cut my backer  then edged after it was cut to size. This is before the edging.

I attached a tulle hanger to my sign. You could just stand it somewhere or hang with ribbon. I simply put some hot glue in between the folds on the crinkle edger and shoved the end of my tulle in them with a skewer so I didn't burn my creative hands!

This is such a cute project and I love how it came out. Of course now I have to make more of both for myself as they went out in the Boo buckets tonight!

Have fun and make sure you visit the Graphics Fairy! She’s amazing!

Until next time,

Chatty Cathy
